Is there anything to do at night in Grafton?

Very little, and that is the appeal. Dinner, a drink, a walk through the village and an early night is the standard evening. If you want restaurants and music, Brattleboro is about forty minutes southeast.

How small is Grafton really?

The whole town has a few hundred residents, and the village core is a handful of streets. You can see all of it on foot in an hour, which is why most people pair it with drives out to Chester, Townshend or Weston.

Where do I go for supplies?

The village store covers basics. For a proper supermarket, pharmacy or petrol, head to Chester about eight miles north on VT-35, or Bellows Falls roughly twelve miles east. Fill the tank before you come in for the weekend.

Is it easy to reach in winter?

The paved approaches are plowed and generally fine, but several local roads are dirt and the VT-121 route along the Saxtons River can be rough and narrow. All-wheel drive or proper winter tyres make the trip much less stressful.
